Anita Woodley

Anita Woodley is one of 15 artists to receive the 2012 Ella Gountain Pratt Emerging Artists Grant by the Durham Arts Council.  The grant will go to fund her new play where she will portray the men in her family.  Others given awards were the first Piedmont Laureate/Author Jaki Shelton Green and six-time Grammy  nominated jazz-vocalist Nnenna Freelon.  The awards ceremony is February 23rd.

Anita’s long-running play, Mama Juggs was accepted into the Annual Atlanta Fringe Festival, May 9-13.  Mama Juggs is now  a breast health show about women’s issues. Anita will also perform the play to promote breast cancer awareness in Greensboro for 300 women in April.




Gayle Hurd & Katrina Dix

Recently started a new radio talk show entitled ”Straight Talk with Katrina and Gayle” Wednesday mornings at 8am on WAUG 750 AM and power750.com.  The live call-in show explores a range of hot topics and issues that address a woman’s perspective.
